No Longer the Face Foundation’s annual gala was held on June 23, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia at the 550 Trackside Historic Event Facility. The theme for the event was ‘Worlds Uniting to End Domestic Violence.’
I was honored to be the keynote speaker and shared with attendees why domestic violence advocacy is important to me. Domestic abuse impacted my life in a major way. While dealing with the effects of domestic abuse, I received overwhelming support from others. I committed to ‘paying it forward’ by in turn extending my support to survivors of domestic abuse. My message is simple: turn your pain into purpose. Whatever your story is and no matter what you are dealing with right now, always know that YOU can control your destiny by being intentional about your purpose. Change the narrative! Don’t give up. Never silence your voice.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the program and I applaud No Longer the Face Foundation for all that they are doing to end domestic violence.
