The program features a Women in Leadership Panel with professional women from the Union Parish community who share a common interest in mentoring our next generation of leaders:

Jiame Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in addiction studies. She is a family and consumer science agent for parenting and nutrition education. Being a role model to young girls is a passion Jiame has had all of her life. Jiame is actively involved in her community and works with young adults through collaboration with the Union Parish library. She is the Founder and program coordinator for It’s a Girl Thing: Making Proud Choices.

Ta’Sheka Morris-Ellison is a pastor’s wife and mother to her lovely daughter, Morgan. She is a graduate of Grambling State University and currently serves as Payroll Manager for Caddo Parish public schools. She has 19 years of financial applications and systems software programming experience. Ta’Sheka is actively involved in many ministries and enjoys dedicating her time to mentoring teenage girls. She has learned to live for a purpose and have faith in God’s promises for her life.

Melissa Neal-Jackson is an experienced mental health professional and social worker at True Visions, Incorporated. She is a graduate of Grambling State University and Louisiana Tech University. Melissa is actively involved in the community through mentoring young girls on the importance of personal image and self-esteem. She believes that together we can all make a difference in the lives of the young children we serve.

Raven Owens is an innovative and driven accounting professional with over 15 years of experience. She is a graduate of Grambling State University and Strayer University and currently serves as a Tax Auditor with the Louisiana Department of Revenue. In this capacity she is responsible for auditing multi-billion dollar enterprises. Raven is also an adjunct accounting instructor at Career Technical College. Raven has carried these three words with her throughout her life: “Never Give Up,” for she knows that all goals are within your reach.

Tia White-Franklin is a proud wife and mother to four wonderful children. Upon graduation from Louisiana Tech University, Tia worked for a Fortune 500 mortgage company and now has 6+ years in the banking industry. Tia currently serves as Branch Manager for JP Morgan Chase. She is committed to giving back to her community by sharing her professional expertise and experiences.
